SODELPA MP Tanya Waqanika and Health Minister Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete.

Health Minister Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete today told SODELPA parliamentarians to stop questioning the appointment of Marama Taukei Naua Adi Tema Sovau Varo as the new FijiFirst President.

While responding to the President’s speech, Waqainabete says the appointment of the Marama Taukei Naua is the prerogative of the Prime Minister and the FijiFirst leadership.

He says they do not question the appointment of the SODELPA President because that is the prerogative of SODELPA.

Waqainabete also told SODELPA parliamentarians to have the courtesy to support whoever is appointed as the next SODELPA Leader.

SODELPA MP Tanya Waqanika had said she prays that the appointment of the Marama Na Taukei Naua is not guised as an apology for the government’s insensitive approach when they passed Bill 17.

Waqanika says she also sends a friendly warning to the western chiefs to not be used by the government or any political party.
