Never giving up on his dream of representing the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side on the international stage is starting to slowly pay off for Lasaro Bogisa who is now in the Fiji Men’s 7s extended squad preparing for the upcoming HSBC Singapore 7s next week.

During an interview with fijivillage News, Bogisa says he has been knocking on the selection doors for the past 5 years and now he is finally in the extended squad and is one step closer to achieving his dream.

The Saunaka, Nadi man says ever since joining the squad, he has learnt a lot of new things, especially from the senior players in the squad.

He says it was a proud moment for him to be selected into the extended squad knowing that his dedication and hard work over the years have come into fruition.

Bogisa says no one else in his family knew about his selection apart from his mother and they are even surprised to see photos of him in the media training with the Fiji 7s squad.

Bogisa played for the DXC Barbarians and is one of the new players who joined the extended squad alongside Army’s Waisea Leroti while Iowane Teba and Rokoua Rasaku rejoined the squad.

The Fiji Men’s 7s squad for the Singapore 7s is expected to be named by the end of this week or early next week.

The Singapore 7s will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of May.
