An elderly man in Naitata, Navua, is pleading for assistance after losing his home and all his belongings in a fire in October last year.

Ases Kisun says he was at work while his wife was at a neighbour’s place when the fire started in the afternoon.

He says they were unable to save anything from their three-bedroom corrugated iron and timber home and were left only with the clothes on their backs.

Kisun says he and his wife lived alone in the house and is grateful that no one was inside at the time of the fire.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Kisun says they are unsure how the fire started and have not yet received a report on the investigation.

He says he is a mechanic and, along with losing his home, he also lost all his tools, with the total loss being over $100,000.

Kisun says he is grateful to be living in quarters provided by his employer.

The 53-year-old says he desperately needs assistance as he has a heart condition that prevents him from working full-time.

If you wish to assist the family, you can transfer money to his wife, Sharmila Chand’s, M-PAiSA account on 8419965.
