The water level in Navua River has risen by half a metre in the past hour.

This has been confirmed by the Navua Fire Authority who are monitoring the water level every half an hour and level is rapidly increasing.

They also say that for now, no roads have been closed.

The Nadi Weather Office says persistent heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.

A Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for the Central and Eastern Division and is now in force for Yasawa.

They say it is expected to gradually ease from the West from later today and clear the group by later tomorrow.
