The Youth Ministry of the Fiji Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church has paid a heartfelt tribute to former member Petero Navosailagi who drowned while attending a camp at Waiyala, Keiyasi in Navosa yesterday morning.

Navosailagi was a technician, photographer, designer, public relations officer and an adviser to the Youth Department of the SDA Fiji Mission.

In its tribute, it says Navosailagi was incredibly talented and instrumental to the department and this is a difficult time for them as it tries to come to term with the loss of a youth champ.

They say Navosailagi has left them with fond and wonderful memories, one of which was his zeal and passion in the mission of saving souls for Jesus.

The church says Navosailagi is a legend and his name will live on in their hearts till they see him again on that glorious day.

Police say Navosailagi went swimming and was found floating in the nearby river moments later.

Several attempts made to revive him were unsuccessful.

This is the 8th drowning incident recorded this month alone.
