Naviavia villagers in Vanua Levu gain reliable communication with Starlink

The villagers of Naviavia in Vanua Levu will no longer have to worry about internet connectivity and telephone services as they have received a Starlink satellite dish, together with a telephone.

This is part of a pilot program by the government where the Assistant Minister for Information Aliki Bia handed over a Starlink satellite dish, together with a telephone.

District Advisory Counselor, Sade Marika says this initiative will help the villagers get the help that they need whenever there is a cyclone or during any natural disaster.

Marika says this is a big help for them as they are not able to communicate with those around them, especially during bad weather.

He adds through this assistance, villagers will be updated with information on the support from other government ministries through various initiatives, that will enable them to learn and progress within the village.

Bia says the package came with a link and two access points that provide Wi-Fi coverage via a voucher system.
