Devi says reading and learning is very important for students to enhance their knowledge.

The Rotary Club of Suva East together with Rotary Club of Awapuni in New Zealand and RC Manubhai have donated close to 500 books to Nasinu Gospel Primary School which is expected to benefit more than 700 students.

President of the Rotary Club of Suva East , Ashika Devi, says they started this initiative when they found out the school doesn't have a library but a small book corner.

Devi says reading and learning is very important for students to enhance their knowledge.

She says they have donated more than 1,000 books to the school so far.

Devi says they have plans to help other schools as well and they have been receiving requests as well.

She says until they have collected enough books for Nasinu Gospel Primary School, they will continue to assist the school.

Devi adds the Rotary Club of Awapuni in New Zealand sends them two boxes of books every two months which is close to 500 books.

She says people who want to donate books can contact them through their facebook page, email them on rotarysuvaeast@gmail.com or call her on 9968714.
