Fijians can be more proud of our cuisine as Fiji has been nominated for the World Culinary Awards 2022 and MasterChef Australia 2021 Winner Justin Narayan has been promoting local food on social media.

Fiji has been nominated under the Oceania’s Best Culinary Destination 2022 category.

Narayan whose parents were born in Fiji is in the country with his wife where they have been learning about salt harvesting at South Sea Salt Fiji in Momi.

Both celebrated their anniversary with a meal at Sails Restaurant at Port Denarau Marina, dined at KANU Restaurant in Nadi and stayed at Turtle Island Resort last week.

Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill says this is a unique opportunity for them to showcase what Fiji has to offer as a culinary destination.

He says over the last few days, Narayan has been posting stories and sharing his food journey through Fiji with his 116,000 followers on Instagram and thousands more on Facebook.

Hill says this is a testament to what Fiji can do and achieve.

The CEO further says we all know Fiji has some amazing and delicious food across the many cultures that make up modern day Fiji.

Voting for the awards closes on 31st August.
