Edward Nand, Viliame Vulawalu, Semi Naisevunivai have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Afroz Khan between November 27th and December 12th last year.

The State counsel, Unaisi Ratukalou alleges that all three met Khan, kidnapped him, and asked for ransom from his wife and family.

Ratukalou says all three demanded $10,000 to be dropped at Ratu Cakobau Park.

She says the CCTV footage shows they were together before throwing Khan into Waisere River in Tailevu.

The State counsel says that in the caution interview, they admitted to assaulting Khan.

The matter is adjourned to the 20th of June.

Meanwhile, Nand is serving life imprisonment for the murder of a visiting Fijian national from Canada, Narend Chand, on the 19th of February 2023.

Nand used his former girlfriend without her knowledge to obtain financial gains from Chand.
