Saneem re-appointed as the Supervisor of Elections

Viniana Namosimalua's appointment as the Acting Secretary-General to Parliament has not been renewed.

The President acting on the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission has appointed Jeanette Emberson as the Acting Secretary-General to Parliament until a substantive appointment is made.

Emberson's acting appointment is effective from 12 January 2021.

The Constitutional Offices Commission has also decided to re-advertise the vacancy.

According to a government statement, following an open merit recruitment process, Mohammed Saneem has been re-appointed as the Supervisor of Elections for a term of 5 years.

Acting Chief Justice Kamal Kumar has been re-appointed as the Chairperson of the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission. Lanieta Tuimabu, Nicole Daniels, Sureni Perera and Pravesh Sharma have also been re-appointed as the members of the Commission.

Vishnu Mohan has been re-appointed as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission. Nesbitt Hazelman, Nikita Patel and Shaenaz Voss have also been re-appointed as the members of the Commission.

It further says the Constitutional Offices Commission has recently advertised the positions of the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, the Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force and the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service and appointments to these constitutional offices will be made following an open merit recruitment process.
