Namosi has successfully defended the Farebrother Sullivan Trophy for the fourth time after thrashing Yasawa 21-3 at the ANZ Stadium this afternoon.

Alivereti Veitokani was flawless from the kicking tee and scored 11 points for Namosi.

Namosi led 15-3 at half-time.

Namosi scored the first try in the 3rd minute through Meli Nakarawa who dived over in the corner after some good exchanges.

Onisi Ratave ran over 50m and scored an intercept try in the 7th minute to extend Namosi’s lead.

Yasawa’s only points came through Josefa Vetaukula who kicked a penalty in the 17th minute.

Namosi will now face Nadi in the next challenge in a fortnight’s time.

Meanwhile, in other Skipper Cup matches, Nadi thrashed Lautoka 37-9 and Naitasiri beat Nadroga 13-6.

55th minute. Yasawa give away another penalty. Namosi with a chance to increase their lead.

52nd minute. Forced knock-ons a concern for both the sides.

48th minute. Namosi 18-3 Yasawa. Alivereti Veitokani kicks a penalty for Namosi.

47h minute. Namosi get a penalty on Yasawa’s 22m line.

30th minute. Namosi get a penalty deep inside Yasawa’s territory. Namosi opt for a scrum.

24th minute. Namosi 12-3 Yasawa. Both teams putting up the tempo in slippery conditions at the ANZ Stadium.

17th minute Namosi 12-3 Yasawa. Josefa Vetaukula successful with the penalty.

16th minute Yasawa get a penalty midway in Namosi’s territory.

12th minute Namosi 12-0 Yasawa. Yasawa building play and exchanging good passes but Namosi defence holding on.

8th minute Namosi 12-0 Yasawa. Alivereti Veitokani successful with the conversion.

7th-minute Namosi 10-0 Yasawa. Onisi Ratave with an intercept try from the half-way mark.

5th-minute Namosi 5-0 Yasawa. Alivereti Veitokani misses the conversion.

3rd-minute Namosi 5-0 Yasawa. Meli Nakarawa dives over in the corner to score Namosi’s first try.
