The landowners of the Vanua of Nabukebuke and Nawaidina have expressed their disappointment to the government regarding the Minister for Lands, Filimoni Vosarogo allegedly not communicating well with the Namosi Provincial Office on the postponement of the date for their meeting based on the renewal of the Special Prospecting License 14:20.

However Vosarogo confirms that he will be attending the meeting with the mataqali Nabukebuke Namosi on the 8th of next month.

Lomani Au, Maroroi Au Chairman, Sipiriano Nariva says more than 200 landowners of the Vanua of Nabukebuke and Naitavuni were present at the Namosi Village Hall but the meeting was cancelled.

Nariva says the failed meeting marks the third time the Minister has set a date and postponed it without prior notice given to the Vanua despite the preparation and gathering of the people who want to have their say directly with the Minister.

He says the Vanua went ahead and met last Wednesday although no government official was present.

The Chairman says they are clear on the fact that for the past several months, the Minister has first ignored the voices and representation of other landowners whose lands are currently inside the SPL boundary.

They demand professionalism from the Minister of Lands and Government toward the Vanua of Nabukebuke and Nawaidina on the use of their collective natural resources.
