Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua

A name has been recommended for the position of the new Police Commissioner, and Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua says he is now waiting for the Constitutional Offices Commission to advertise the position and sit to make a decision.

When questioned if this is affecting the work of the Police Force, Tikoduadua says the sooner we get a new Commissioner, the better it is for everybody as the reset in the Force is completely dependent on the new Commissioner.

Meanwhile, Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew says whoever is identified as the new Commissioner will be supported and will be guided by the principles of the reset.

There has been no indication from the government on when the Constitutional Offices Commission which is chaired by the Prime Minister will sit.
