Residents want nightclub hours to be reduced

A Namaka, Nadi resident says when they go to church on Sunday mornings, they see more people lying on the road than animals.

He made this comment while speaking during the consultation on the change in opening hours of nightclubs in Nadi and says this is unfortunate.

The man says this can be mitigated by more manpower for nightclub owners and police.

The Namaka resident has suggested to have these personnel outside the nightclubs and immediately send people home after nightclubs close.

Another resident raised the issue that the Martintar area in Nadi is now famous for drunkards and unruly people.

He says their concern is the longer hours that nightclubs operate, and they want the hours to be reduced.
