Villagers of Naivakacau in Tailevu are raising their concerns on the continuous water cuts occurring in their area and they are calling on the Water Authority for a sustainable solution to their water problem.

Village Headman Navitalai Vunimoli says water only comes from the taps at 10am everyday and comes on again at 5pm and the situation is becoming increasingly a concern for the villagers.

He says they have reached out to WAF and are receiving water trucks when in need, but they need a better solution to their problem.

He also says the villagers are suffering, their health and well-being are at risk.

Vunimoli says they are demanding immediate action to control the situation and restore a reliable water supply in Naivakacau.

A Villager says ever since the water cuts started, it has been incredibly challenging for them.

She says water is a basic necessity, and without it, their daily lives are affected as they rely on clean water for drinking, cooking, and maintaining basic hygiene.

We have sent questions to Water Authority of Fiji and they are yet to respond.
