Residents of Nadonumai in Lami have raised concerns about false promises by the Government to tarseal their road even though they acknowledge them as custodians of the land, they feel they have been left in the dark for the past years.

Sitiveni Namerua says for the last 30 years of living in Nadonumai, their road has never been tarsealed and they have been dealing with dust all these years which has caused serious health concerns for his family and most residents in Nadonumai.

Namerua says the Government calls them custodians of the land but they have been crying for a tarsealed road for the last 30 years and nothing has been done.

He says they have kept their windows closed, which has caused poor ventilation for their children and family members, but they have no other option because they have to stop the dust from entering the homes.

Namerua is pleading to the Government to look into their plea as people's lives are at stake.

We have sent questions to the Fiji Roads Authority.

They are yet to respond.
