He has been described as one of the fittest forwards in the game and the future looks bright for Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s rep Joseva Talacolo who is quickly becoming a household name in the World 7s Series.

While speaking from Australia, the former Head of Strength and Conditioning for the national 7s side, Naca Cawanibuka has shared some incredible insights into the journey of Talacolo from the Tabadamu 7s team to guaranteed stardom.

Cawanibuka says they first spotted Talacolo playing for Tabadamu in different tournaments and they wanted to bring him into the 7s set up.

He adds Talacolo spent a very short time with the team and then he went to New Zealand and they thought they had lost Talacolo.

Cawanibuka further says he got Talacolo’s number from somewhere and Talacolo informed him that he was somewhere in Namosi and Cawanibuka invited him to come to Suva.

After a while when he did not show up, Cawanibuka tried to track him again.

He adds one thing that Talacolo lacked earlier on was confidence in his skill set however he says Talacolo has improved in that department.

Talacolo and the Fiji 7s team will meet England in their first match of the Vancouver 7s at 5.53am Sunday, they will then take on Kenya at 9.04am Sunday in their second match and play USA at 12.35pm Sunday in their final pool match.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 5.40am Monday, the semis will start at 9.44am while the Cup final will be played 12.58pm.
