NZ and Australia to grant $39.41m for Social Infrastructure and Rural Electrification Fund

New Zealand and Australia will be providing $39.41 million in grants for the Fiji Social Infrastructure Programme and the Fiji Rural Electrification Fund.

This comes as Cabinet has endorsed the newly proposed Direct Funding Arrangements with the Governments of Australia and New Zealand.

They say Australia will be providing a grant of $25.12 million for the Fiji Social Infrastructure Programme.

For the Fiji Rural Electrification Fund Programme, Australia will provide $10.89 million and New Zealand will give a grant of $3.4 million.

The Fiji Social Infrastructure Programme will commence this month and will end no later than 30th June 2027, while the Fiji Rural Electrification Fund Programme will commence on 30th June this year and will be complete before the 30th June 2028.
