Minor premiers Penrith will pocket just $50,000 for being the best team at the end of the regular season, down from $100,000.

The winners of the NRL grand final will only pocket AUD$200,000 after the NRL was forced to slash its prizemoney distribution for finalists due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The AUD$1 million finals prize spread across the eight clubs has been halved, lowering the premiers' winning purse from $400,000 to $200,000.

Minor premiers Penrith will pocket just $50,000 for being the best team at the end of the regular season, down from $100,000.

The 2020 NRL Grand Final will be played on the 25th of this month at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
