The Mt. Masada 7s side which is the shadow team of the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s, is on fire on day 1 of the 48th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s in the women's division after securing two wins in their pool matches this morning.

Mt. Masada defeated Army Women 12-0 in the first game and thrashed St. John's Lomary Women 45-0 in their second pool match.

Captain Nunia Ravuaceva says they are taking each game as it comes as they try to work out their combination.

Ravuaceva says the new players in the squad have been impressive so far and they are really putting their hands up for selection for the upcoming HSBC Hong Kong 7s tournament next month.

In other women’s results, Army Women's 7s defeated CK's Marist Women 2 29-0, Seahawks thrashed Vomo Island Resort 54-0 and CK's Marist Women 1 beat Savusavu Women 17-12.

The women’s competition continues at the HFC Stadium.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Marist 7s men’s quarter finals from 1.01pm Saturday, semis from 3.35pm, the women’s final from 6.40pm and men’s final from 7.30pm with our commentator, Antonio Rahiman on our sister station, VitiFM and on our website, fijivillage.
