All Blacks fly-half Richie Mo'unga was the inspiration for the Crusaders in putting on their most complete performance of the Super Rugby season.

The Crusaders thrashed the Super Rugby Australia champions, the Reds 63-28 last Saturday with Mo'unga scoring a hat trick and adding another eight conversions.

Coach Scott Robertson praised his performance stating that when Mo'unga is on, he is as good as it gets.

He says the 26-year-old showed how he leads his team and rugby fans got to see his game management on the field.

Robertson says Mo'unga's performance demands excellence and that serves as inspiration for the group.

The Crusaders will travel to New South Wales this week where they will meet the Waratahs at 5.05pm Saturday.

In other matches, the Hurricanes will face the Western Force at 7.05pm Friday, the Blues will play the Brumbies at 7.15pm Saturday, the Reds will host the Chiefs at 9.45pm Saturday and the Highlanders will take on the Rebels at 2.35pm Sunday.
