Mother of an inmate ready to welcome her son in 5 weeks

The mother of an inmate who was part of Yellow Ribbon Walk at Albert Park today says she cannot wait to welcome back her son who will be finishing serving his 3-year sentence in five weeks.

The Yellow Ribbon Walk is aimed at raising awareness about acceptance for inmates that have been released back into society.

Tema Vakaotia says walked for her son and all the Corrections officers who are taking care of him.

She says her family is already planning a re-union to welcome him back and they are ready to accept him.

Thousands of people took part in the walk which was led by Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete, Minister for Women, Mereseini Vuniwaqa, Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate and Minister for Defence Inia Seruiratu.
