More than half a million dollars worth of pearls allegedly stolen from J.Hunter Pearls

More than half a million dollars worth of pearls has been reported stolen from the J.Hunter Pearls office in Savusavu.

Police are saying the mock-up of pearls were allegedly stolen between October last year and late January this year.

A mock-up of pearls contains up to 45 pearls and Police say five were discovered missing.

According to Police, the alleged theft was reported when someone asked about buying some of those pearls and when an employee went to retrieve them from the safe, they found out the pearls were missing.

Police say a report was then lodged at the Savusavu Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
