More people could be seen wearing masks and practicing social distancing around Suva today and businesses have started enforcing strict measures like not allowing customers to enter if they do not have a mask or careFiji app.

Police and SCC have also stepped up their enforcement at the Suva Bus Stand and Market.

Entry and exit points have been established at each end of the Suva Market and we could see enforcement officers actively telling people to practice social distancing at the Suva Bus Stand.

No one without a mask is allowed inside the Suva Market and police officers and SCC enforcement officials are at entry points monitoring this.market

Banks and major retail outlets are also strict with the guidelines to have the careFiji app and masks. These include banks, CKs Ezy Buy, Harrisons, Hop Tiy, S.Nagindas, MHCC and Sportsworld.

fijivillage also visited pharmacies around Suva City and Nabua today. They told us a lot of people have been buying masks and they have a lot more in stock.

Many pharmacies are selling single disposable masks for $1.00 and $1.50.

We spoke to Mere Kata and her daughter Laisani who were doing their shopping at Shop and Save Supermarket in Nabua.

Another person we spoke to was Anthony Johai who says they are taking the necessary measures and are not allowing any friends or relatives to visit their house.

At Charan Jeath Singh Supermarket in Nabua, the Checkout Controller Keali Tubuitamana says no one is allowed inside without a mask.

He says only 30 people are allowed inside the shop at one point in time.

We visited other supermarkets around Suva and they are also implementing these guidelines.
