More flexibility in the Flying Fijians backline

More flexibility in the Flying Fijians backline

Coach Mick Byrne

The Fiji Water Flying Fijians squad for the upcoming November tests has got some really good flexibility with players being able to play in other positions.

This was highlighted by coach Mick Byrne who says the strength of the team is the ability for the players to play in multiple positions.

Byrne says while a player is selected as a fullback, they also understand that given the situation and the team balance or the opposition they play, they have got flexibility.

When asked about Josua Tuisova’s return into the squad, Byrne says Tuisova has done a great job as one of the better players in the Rugby World Cup last year.

He says Tuisova was unavailable for the recent Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup due to family reasons and he is really looking forward to joining back in the squad.

The Flying Fijians will take on Scotland on the 3rd of November in their first test, they will then take on Wales on the 11th of November before playing Spain in the third test on the 17th of November. They will play Ireland on the 24th of November in their final test.
