Moana Pasifika boosted their chances of booking a playoff spot in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific after a dramatic 27-21 win over the Blues at home last night.
Captain Ardie Savea was again in top form last night and came up with the crucial play at the last minute of the match, which gave them the win after turning the ball over while the Blues were attacking Moana Pasifika’s try line.
In a post-match interview, Savea says he was proud of his team’s effort against a quality Blues side, and he was happier with the win.
He says their coach, Tana Umaga, always talked about faith, and that was all they needed and what they did.
He adds they controlled what they could control and let God do the rest.
Following that win, Moana Pasifika remains in 6th place and is locked at 28 points with the Blues, who are in 7th place.
Moana Pasifika has two games remaining, and a win will help them create history and make their first-ever Super Rugby Pacific playoffs eversince joining the competition in 2022.
