1 new COVID death and 60 new cases

An unvaccinated 45-year-old woman with multiple pre-existing medical conditions passed away due to COVID-19 on Saturday in the Central Division.

This has now brought the total number of COVID deaths in Fiji to 865.

Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong also confirms the Health Ministry has recorded 60 new cases of COVID since last Thursday.

This includes 21 cases in the Central Division, 34 cases in the Western Division and five cases in the North.

The national 7-day rolling average of cases as of 9th June is 14.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are currently 161 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
