Goundar Shipping Limited needs to ensure that they comply with the safe ships management system regulations since it is a safety requirement for all shipping companies.

This has been made clear by Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Jone Usamate.

Usamate says the safe ships management system regulation is important for the shipping companies for the safety of everybody.

He says the regulation has been around since 2014 and was later implemented in July last year.

Usamate says the shipping companies are aware of these regulations.

He also says MSAF is responsible for the shipping companies and to see that they comply with the regulations.
