Minister for Agriculture, Vatimi Rayalu has passed away.

He passed away yesterday.

Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka confirms that Minister for Health, Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu, has advised him of the sad passing of Vatimi Rayalu.

Rabuka confirms that Cabinet and Government will respect the wishes of the family and his vanua in observing the protocols and customs relating to the sad and untimely death of Rayalu.

He says please keep Vasiti and the family in your prayers in this very sad and difficult time.

According to the 2013 Constitution, the candidate with the next highest number of votes in the last general elections from the party will get the parliamentary seat after the vacancy.

According to the People’s Alliance Party candidates list, Inosi Kuridrani is next in line to come into parliament.

Kuridrani is a former SODELPA MP.
