The Central Eastern Mini Bus Association says they are not going to operate at half capacity which is why they are urging mini bus drivers and passengers to wear gloves and masks while travelling.

Association President, Naresh Chand says mini bus operators will make a loss if they operate at half capacity.

He says if they are going to enforce two metres distance between passengers, they will only be able to carry three or four passengers so it does not make any sense to them in terms of operating their mini buses.

Chand says people have to be mindful that COVID-19 is here so they have to be home and if they have anything to do in towns or cities, then they have to see which mode of transport is suitable and safer for them.

He is urging all mini bus drivers to wear face masks while driving and wear hand gloves while taking fares or giving change to the passengers.
