Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Andrew Tukana

The Ministry of Agriculture is working with the Fiji Development Bank on packages that farmers can easily access.

Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Andrew Tukana stated this in an interview saying there is quite a lot of people involved in farming and agriculture, but one of the big issues is that they are unable to access finances to expand their farming operations or business.

The Permanent Secretary says at most times some of the requirements the Fiji Development Bank needs are difficult to obtain.

He says what the Ministry is doing is working with the farmers to ensure that some of the requirements needed by the bank can be brought forward and compiled and then enable the farmers to access the finance packages from FDB.
