Swire Shipping Fijian Drua hooker Zuriel Tongiatama

Mental preparation has been one of the differences for Swire Shipping Fijian Drua hooker Zuriel Tongiatama this year as he looks forward to round 1 of the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition next week.

Tongiatama says his preparation this year has been different and one of them would have to be his off-field preparation.

He says he now has a vision board at home and he likes to refer to that before and after he gets home.

When asked about the competition he has been receiving from other hookers in the team with the likes of Mesulame Dolokoto, Tevita Ikanivere and newcomer Kavaia Tagivetaua, Tongiatama says it is very healthy.

He says in the team, especially position-wise, they are always encouraging each other as iron sharpens iron.

He adds at the moment, they have been working with each other a lot, especially with their set-piece and their core role.

The Drua will host the Brumbies at 3.35pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva next Saturday.
