May visitor arrivals for Fiji totaled 47,813 which is 65 percent of the May 2019 levels.

Arrivals from New Zealand in May 2022 is two thirds of arrivals in May 2019 while Australia arrivals is over 90 percent for the same period.

According to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics, of the 47,813 visitors, 46,900 came by air while 913 came by sea.

Tourism Fiji is also hoping to run economic impact studies on how much the Super Rugby Pacific competition has contributed to the tourism industry.

Toursim CEO, Brent Hill highlighted this on his official twitter handle.

Hill says this is another strong indication of the Fiji tourism industry as this is the highest number of visitor arrivals recorded in a month since international borders re-opened.

To date Fiji has recorded 167,000 visitor arrivals.
