Newly appointed Supervisor of Elections Ana Salaivalu Mataiciwa

Newly appointed Supervisor of Elections Ana Salaivalu Mataiciwa says she is humbled and full of gratitude for the opportunity to serve her country for such a time as this.

Mataiciwa was announced as the substantive Supervisor of Elections with immediate effect today following a letter received from President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, acting upon the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission.

While receiving the confirmation, Mataiciwa says she is thankful to God and to all those who stood by her during her tenure as the Acting Supervisor of Elections, and also to all the members of the public for their encouraging thoughts and prayers.

Mataiciwa emphasized her commitment to executing her duties in line with the Constitution and laws of Fiji.

She says in her substantive appointment, just as she has done during her tenure as the Acting Supervisor of Elections, she will continue to carry out her duties and responsibilities in line with the Constitution of Fiji, and her actions will always be reflective of this.

Before her appointment as the Acting Supervisor of Elections in January 2023, Mataiciwa served in various roles within the FEO, including Acting Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Manager Legal, and Legal and Compliance Coordinator since 2014.
