Fiji Airways Flying Fijians number eight Viliame Mata is in doubt for the Autumn Nations Cup after suffering a leg injury during Edinburgh's European Challenge Cup quarter-final loss to Bordeaux last week.
The 28-year-old will undergo surgery this week and is likely to be out for the next eight weeks.
It might take Mata six to eight weeks to recover but this will only be confirmed once the surgery is over.
Meanwhile, Fiji's first match in the Autumn Nations Cup is against France on Sunday 15th November.
Fiji will then meet Italy on 21st November before travelling to Murrayfield to play Scotland in the final round on the 28th of November.
