Dominion Brothers player Iliavi Masori is hoping to make his international 7s debut at the SVNS HSBC Dubai 7s at the end of the month after making it to the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s extended squad.

The Ba native is grateful to have been selected again to join the squad preparing for the Dubai 7s, and he said that if given the opportunity, he will give his all for the country.

He says his brother, Fiji 7s rep Joji Rasova, has been his pillar of strength and pushing him to be better in his rugby skills.

Masori says he is also thankful that through the struggles and hardships that he and his brother have gone through, they are both now in the extended squad.

He adds the change in coaching has also brought a new perspective to the team and their vision for the tournaments ahead.

He says preparations for the Dubai 7s have been going well, and he has been working on the areas that he sees that need to be improved.

The Fiji men’s team are pooled with New Zealand, the USA and Spain in the Dubai 7s.

Their first match will be against Spain at 6.06pm on the 30th of this month, followed by their match against the USA at 9.30pm, and they will then meet New Zealand at 3.16am on the 31st in their final pool match.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s are in pool A with Australia, Ireland and China.

The Fijiana 7s will meet Ireland at 5.44pm on the 30th of this month for their first pool match, they will then play Australia at 9.05pm in their second match, and they will face China at 1.13am on the 31st of this month in their final pool match.
