Marist Rugby Club President Lawrence Tikara

This year’s 47th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will have the women’s competition sponsored by Rooster Chicken.

This was confirmed by Marist Rugby Club President Lawrence Tikaram during the official sponsorship announcement at the Paradise Beverages office in Suva.

Tikaram says it is an honour to have Rooster Chicken coming on board at this year’s Marist 7s event as it has enabled the size of the women’s competition teams to increase from 8 teams to 12.

He says it has also helped in promoting the women’s game of rugby a lot better.

Tikaram also confirmed that this year’s Marist 7s women’s competition will be known as the Fiji Bitter Rooster Chicken Women’s competition.

He adds the sponsorship package is valued at $20,000.

Tikaram says the Marist Rugby Club is looking forward to working with Rooster Chicken in the future in a bid to increase the value of not only the brand but also the bid of motivating the Fijiana 7s team into winning their first ever Gold Medal at the Olympics.

The Marist 7s will be held from the 16th to the 18th of next month at the HFC bank Stadium, Suva.
