Olympic gold medallist and former Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s rep Sireli Maqala has extended his contract for Aviron Bayonnais Rugby Pro for the next five seasons.

The club says Maqala settled in very quickly after joining them in August 2021.

They say the 25-year-old will continue to bring his speed and energy to the squad.

Maqala has scored 11 tries in 20 matches this season.

Maqala is also part of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians 32-member squad that will prepare for their test matches against the Wallabies and Scotland next month.

The Flying Fijians will take on the Wallabies at 3.30pm next Sunday at Newcastle International Sports Centre.

They will then play Scotland on July 12th at 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
