Many turn up to pay their last respects to Ratu Tu'uakitau

Many turned up today at the Wesley Methodist Church in Suva to pay their last respect to former politician Ratu George Cokanauto Tu'uakitau.

Attending the funeral service this morning was the paramount Chief of the Burebasaga Confederacy, Ro Teimumu Kepa, Roko Tui Bau Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua, Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Biman Prasad, Lau Chief and former military officer, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, Lawyer Graham Leung and the Prince and Princess of Tonga.

He will be laid to rest at the Suva Old Cemetery.

Ratu Tu’uakitau passed away after a short illness at the age of 78 years last Wednesday at the Oceania Private Hospital in Suva.

Ratu Tu’uakitau is the son of the late Ratu Sir Edward Tuivanuavou Tungi Cakobau and Adi Lady Vasemaca Tuiburelevu.

He is survived by his wife, Taraivosa Lagilagi, and his children, Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu, Ratu Jone Savou, Ratu Edward Tavanavanua and Adi Litia Tuiburelevu.
