Manchester United moves to 4th round after 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup

Manchester United proved too strong for League One Wigan Athletic as they defeated them 2-0 and moved into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

United led 1-0 at halftime.

Diogo Dalot and Burno Fernandes scored for United.

Dalot fired the 12-time winners into a 22nd-minute lead with a fine curling strike while Fernandes won a penalty, with his foot clipped by Liam Shaw's challenge, before the Portuguese midfielder got up to convert from the spot for United's second goal.

Manchester United will face either Newport County or Eastleigh in the fourth round.
