A 40-year-old man who allegedly raped and sexually assaulted his 14-year-old step-daughter on separate occasions in Suva has been released on bail.

The alleged incidents occurred between 2017 and August 2020.

The man has been charged with 7 counts of rape and 2 counts of sexual assault.

The state lawyer told court that they do not object to bail because the girl and her mother have relocated to another area.

The case will be called again on 19th April.
