Man who allegedly obtained financial advantage of $200 granted bail

Jaswant Kumar who has been charged by FICAC has been granted bail

Jaswant Kumar who has been charged by FICAC has been granted bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.

He is facing one count each of conspiracy to defraud – obtaining a gain and obtaining financial advantage.

It is alleged that Kumar and another conspired with the intention of dishonestly obtaining a gain in the sum of $200 from an individual.

It is further alleged that Kumar engaged in a conduct, namely charged fees for the delivery of Certificate of Citizenship to an individual and in doing so obtained a financial advantage of $200 knowing that he was not eligible to receive such financial advantage.

The alleged incidents happened in April 2020.
