Man who allegedly assaulted bedridden father to death still in custody

A man who allegedly assaulted his elderly father which resulted in his death in their home at Draubuta Village in Navosa last week has been arrested and is still in police custody.

Police say they are waiting for the post mortem report before laying charges later today.

The father had been bedridden for some time.

The man who was drunk allegedly assaulted his father as he lay on his bed.

The elderly man was rushed to the Navosa Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
