A man in his 20s passed away following an alleged hit and run accident along the Queens Road at the Muni Ratnam Junction in Sigatoka this morning.
Police say the victim who lived in Korotogo Back Road was last seen by another man who was on his way to drop a passenger in Korotogo.
They say the man offered the victim a ride which he allegedly refused.
It is alleged that after a while, a 35-year-old driver from Malaqereqere saw the victim lying motionless in the middle of the road.
Police say the driver reported the matter to police and officers rushed the victim to the Sigatoka Hospital where he passed away an hour later.
They are requesting anyone who may have information regarding the case to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
