A 23-year-old man died in a house fire in Nabua last night.

The National Fire Authority has confirmed this saying they attended to a fire incident at Yarawa Road in Nabua last night which partly destroyed a three bedroom double storey concrete house and completely destroyed a three flat wooden and corrugated iron house.

This also resulted in the tragic death of a 23-year-old man.

The NFA received the fire emergency call at 11.44pm and immediately responded to the fire call.

Upon arrival, the firefighters saw the house fully engulfed in flames.

Four fire trucks were engaged to put out the fire.

The 23-year-old man was trapped inside the wooden and corrugated iron flat.

Firefighters also managed to save the owner’s car and three other houses in the area.

In another fire incident at Lovu Seaside in Lautoka last night, a four bedroom corrugated iron and timber house was destroyed.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and stopped it from spreading to the nearby houses in the area.

The fire has left 11 people homeless.

The family was at home when the fire started and managed to get out of the house safely.

NFA investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fires for both incidents.
