A 26-year-old man who was seriously injured after a tyre blew up at his workplace yesterday has passed away at the CWM Hospital.

Police say the man was filling the tyre of a 3-tonne truck with air when the incident happened.

According to Police, the tyre allegedly burst due to excessive air pressure and this caused the man to be thrown from the back of the truck and land on the concrete pavement.

He was rushed to CWM Hospital and passed away last night.
