A man is in Police custody after he was arrested trying to break into a house in the Pacific Harbour area.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says they received a report of a break-in after 3am when officers had gathered at Pacific Harbour for their morning route march.

He says a team was deployed to the residence, where they gave chase and apprehended the man.

The suspect resides in Narere but he is believed to be camping in the Pacific Harbour area and working at a construction site.

ACP Khan says the arresting team have recovered all items that are alleged to be stolen when they arrested the man.

He adds investigators are also looking into other robbery cases in the Navua area where the man is alleged to be involved.
