Man arrested after allegedly attempting to steal cash from a store in Valelevu

A man is in police custody after he allegedly stole $30 from a shop in Valelevu this afternoon.

Police say the man was intoxicated.

They say the intervention of three men who witnessed the incident led to the recovery of the stolen money.

One of the men managed to grab the suspect who threw the cash till at him before fleeing the scene.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan has commended the three men and says such actions are a positive reflection of communities working together to counter and curb illegal activities.
