Man allegedly breaches COVID-19 quarantine restrictions in Nadi

Police say they have arrested a man in his 60s for allegedly breaching COVID-19 quarantine restrictions while under quarantine at Nalagi Hotel in Nadi.

According to Police, the man allegedly breached quarantine restrictions between 25th September to 9th October.

They have also confirmed that the man poses no health risk to the public as he committed the alleged offence inside the hotel premises.

Forty arrests for breach of curfew were recorded in the past two days.

The two arrests made in the Southern Division were in Nasinu and Raiwaqa where a juvenile was found walking around in Kalabu.

A 29 year old labourer was found drunk and standing along Gaji Road looking for transport.

The three arrests made in the Eastern Division involved a 22 year old woman and two men who were found drunk in Nausori Town.

A woman and a man were found drunk along Mark Street while the remaining five arrests involved men walking around in public without any valid reasons.

Eight arrests made in the Western Division where six men were drunk during their time of arrest.
