The Fiji Roads Authority says the traffic earlier in the day from Lami into Suva was caused by an accident near the Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge.
Drivers coming into Suva through Lami had raised concerns as they had been stuck in traffic with little movement for almost half an hour.
When contacted, Lami Police had confirmed that three officers were controlling the movement of traffic to ease the flow.
